You can now view app performance data, in addition to website performance data, in Parse.ly HUD. If a good share of your readers come through your app, this update gives you a wholistic view of performance data by channel.

Filter post metrics by channel. In the HUD’s metric settings, views, visitors, and engaged time can now be scoped to a single channel: Website, Native iOS, Native Android, or Apple News. Pick one and the whole page redraws around it, on the same screen where you’re making placement calls.

Choose a channel from the metric settings. Post metrics follow your selection; slot metrics stay on the left, unchanged.

See the split per story. Open a story in the side panel and you’ll see how its traffic breaks down across channels. Click any channel in that breakdown to filter the whole page by it.

New to the HUD?

The Parse.ly HUD (Heads Up Display) layers your Parse.ly analytics on top of your live site.

Open it on your homepage or a section page, and you’ll see how every slot and every story in it is performing, right where you make placement decisions. It replaced the Overlay bookmarklet at the end of August and is available to every Parse.ly customer at no extra cost.

Try it

Open the HUD on your homepage or a section page, open the metric settings, and pick a channel.

App visibility in the HUD has been one of the most common requests we’ve heard since the beta.
