Traffic Classification is now available in the VIP Dashboard, giving every customer a real-time breakdown of who (and what) is hitting their site.

What Is Traffic Classification

Located in Performance → Insights & Metrics, this tool classifies every HTTP request as Human, AI Agent, Crawler, or Unidentified with no batch delay.

Summary cards provide request volume, category shares, and period-over-period comparisons. A stacked bar chart visualizes traffic shifts over time, while the Traffic Operator Details view offers deeper subclass breakdowns and specific operator attribution.

Why It Matters

As AI agents represent more web traffic, understanding these hits is vital for security, rate limiting, and capacity planning. Traffic Classification provides this visibility directly, eliminating the need for manual log analysis. Once you have that visibility, you can act on it — whether that’s blocking unwanted bots with User Agent Restrictions or monetizing legitimate AI access with TollBit.

What’s Included

  • Real-time traffic breakdown: Every edge request classified into Human, AI Agent, Crawler, or Unidentified with no batch delay
  • Summary cards: Total request volume and percentage share per category, with period-over-period comparison
  • Traffic Classification Over Time chart: Stacked bar visualization for spotting spikes and trends across the selected time range
  • Traffic Operator Details: Subclass-level breakdown and named operator attribution when identifiable
