Call for Testing: Jetpack 14.9.1

Jetpack 14.9.1 is available now for testing and the download link is available here

Jetpack 14.9 will be deployed to VIP on Tuesday, August 19, 2025*. The upgrade is expected to be performed at 17:00 UTC (1:00PM ET).

*This deployment date and time are subject to change if issues are discovered during testing of the Jetpack release.

What is being added or changed?

Enhancements

• Add new PayPal Payment block (beta).
• Forms:
  • Add “Empty trash” button.
  • Add Gravatars in form responses.
  • Add link to disconnect Google.
  • Add slider field block.
  • Add tip that spam will automatically be deleted after 15 days.
  • Make phone fields clickable.
• My Jetpack:
  • Enable access to My Jetpack on WP Multisite.
  • Unify the user connection flow with a unified screen.
• Open Graph Meta tags:
  • Add a new fallback image to display on the home page (when site is connected to WordPress.com).
  • Support site logos when generating fallback Image Meta tags.
• Use the view_stats cap for the Jetpack Stats menu item instead of manage_options.

Bug fixes

• Carousel: Fix disabling all photon args when opening an image in a lightbox.
• Clear PayPal Payment button block parameters when changing block type.
• Dashboard: Use UTC for Jetpack Stats chart.
• Mailchimp block: Fix links to accommodate for a bug in Gutenberg.
• My Jetpack:
  • Prevent expiration alerts for products covered by active bundles.
  • Restore plan purchase link.
• Newsletter: Fix bug in category settings.
• Related Posts: Ensure results are available via REST API directly.
• Sharing: Display correct Open Graph meta tags when a page uses a Query Loop block.
• Social: Fix image validation when images sizes are customised.
• Social Image Generator: Do not use the latest post’s Social Image as Open Graph Image tag on the home page.
• Subscriptions:
  • Avoid enqueuing the legacy widget’s stylesheet in block-based themes.
  • Display floating subscription button on mobile devices as well when enabled.

What do I need to do?

We recommend the below:

1. Installing the release on your non-production sites using these instructions.
2. Running through the testing flows outlined in the Jetpack Testing Guide.

As you’re testing, there are a few things to keep in mind:

• Check your browser’s JavaScript console and see if there are any errors reported by Jetpack there.
• Use Query Monitor to help make PHP notices and warnings more noticeable and report anything you see.
