Jetpack 11.9 beta is available now and the download link is available here.

Jetpack 11.9 will be deployed to VIP on Thursday, March 16, 2023*. The upgrade is expected to be performed at 17:00 UTC (1:00PM ET).

*This deployment date and time are subject to change if issues are discovered during testing of the Jetpack release.

What is being added or changed?

Enhancements

  • Import: add new automattic/jetpack-import package.
  • Jetpack: improve design of MediaButton component.
  • Sharing: update look and feel of sharing buttons when in “official” mode.
  • Site editor: display location-aware snackbar in edit mode.
  • Stats: adds filter to hide stats widget based on user capability.
  • Stats: added a notice with a link to a survey when the new stats interface is disabled.
  • Subscriptions: updated submit messages text for subscriptions.
  • Social: visual update to social buttons.

Improved Compatibility

  • Stats: adjust margin for WordPress.com stats link in Jetpack dashboard.
  • VideoPress: extend media button for VideoPress video block.
  • VideoPress: restore v5/v6 transform for all platforms.
  • Social: update icon font to remove support for older browsers (IE11-).
  • Themes: ensure redesigned sharing buttons look good in default themes (Twenty Nineteen, Twenty Sixteen).

Bug fixes

  • Form block: update form-styles script to prevent blurred forms on slow loading pages.
  • Story block: remove dependency on wp-components from the frontend code.
  • Forms block: add filter to prevent contact-form-styles script from being concatenated.
  • Forms block: add new method to parse the form fields, fallback to old method.
  • Forms block: prevent blur effect on AMP pages.
  • Subscriptions: fix premium content block where it would only allow access to site subscribers.
  • Subscriptions: fix subscribe-block button to behave the same as in the fronted.
  • Widgets: fix GoodReads custom widget not finding the target HTML element and appending another after its script tag.

We recommend the below:

  1. Installing the release on your non-production sites using these instructions.
  2. Running through the testing flows outlined in the Jetpack Testing Guide.
